The youngest members of our congregation are a vital part of the missions at FPC. Grades K-12 participate in various programs throughout the year including Sunday School, Youth Group, Summer Performing Arts Camp, Acolyte Service and mission and field trips. If you have children or grandchildren, encourage them to get involved. There are so many opportunities to live and grow in faith at FPC.
Sunday School Promotion & Recognition
Sunday, September 7th will be Sunday School Promotion Recognition! We would
like to recognize the children and youth who will be moving into a new Sunday
School class/age group. Bibles will be presented to those moving into the middle
school class. We would like to make sure that all children/youth moving up are
recognized, so if you have a child/grandchild who is in 1st grade, 6th grade or recently
turned 3, who is interested in being a part of our Sunday School program,
please let us know. Sunday, September 15th, all Sunday School classes will resume
their regular schedule. Kendall and Marlee will also be leading a new Sunday
School class for the middle school students. We are looking forward to a great
year! Kendall, Marlee and Trish

An Acolyte is a member of the youth program selected to be part of the worship process. They are part of the beginning and the ending of most services. The ages in our acolyte program range from 12-18. They need to be active members of the Journey Youth Group to be selected for the role.
Acolytes represent bringing in the Light of God into our service signified by the lighting of the candle.
It is an honor to be selected as an acolyte. The members of the group are expected to behave in an exemplary manner not only at church but in every aspect of their lives. Training and selection for new acolytes happens twice a year. There is a new Leadership program for those individuals have shown an outstanding attitude, have a love for the position and want to help train and mentor our new members.
PYOCA stands for Presbyterian Youth Camp. Over the years, Camp PYOCA has been a source of summer fun for FPC youth and families. The new year means the promise of new life and new opportunities. After an amazing year of programs and the celebration of 70 years of ministry in 2022, we can’t wait to uncover all of the work that God will do at PYOCA in 2023! There’s so much to look forward to and summer camp is at the top of the list. We can hardly wait for another summer of exploring our call, growing in faith, resting in Creation, and playing with a purpose.
Summer camp registration for Pyoca Programs* officially opened at 12:00PM (noon) EST on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
