The youngest members of our congregation are a vital part of the missions at FPC. Grades K-12 participate in various programs throughout the year including Sunday School, Youth Group, Summer Performing Arts Camp, Acolyte Service and mission and field trips. If you have children or grandchildren, encourage them to get involved. There are so many opportunities to live and grow in faith at FPC.
What a joy to be in Sunday School! Christian education is one of the most important ministries in which a church can engage. We cherish those times of study that cause us to grow in our relationship with Jesus. Our Sunday School has dedicated and gifted volunteers. So, we welcome and invite children of all ages to

Our traditional vacation bible school was replaced with a Summer Performing Arts Camp. This week long experience allows kids of all ages to take to the stage and share Gods mission in word and song. Participants not only do two performances for parents, grandparents and community, they also create the set and costumes. This program has been a standing favorite each year with our young people at FPC
This year, we are excited to once again be offering our Creative and Performing Arts Camp! Camp this year will take place from June 5 through June 9 from 10:00 to 4:00. During camp, kids between the ages of kindergarten and 8th grade will have the opportunity to create, sing, dance, play, and perform. As a part of our program this year, the kids will even be helping to create some of the set pieces they will use during the performance “Not Your Average Joe.” Our week will end with a performance and art show at 4:00 that Friday for friends and families to showcase everything that we accomplished during camp. Registration will open on March 5, and if you sign up before April 15, $5 will be taken off of your family total. General registration will continue through May 26. The price for camp this year will be $50 for the first child, and $25 for each additional child in the household. This price covers all of the activities we do in the week as well as their lunch and snack each day. Keep an eye out for registration details. We can’t wait to see you on June 5th!
An Acolyte is a member of the youth program selected to be part of the worship process. They are part of the beginning and the ending of most services. The ages in our acolyte program range from 12-18. They need to be active members of the Journey Youth Group to be selected for the role.
Acolytes represent bringing in the Light of God into our service signified by the lighting of the candle.
It is an honor to be selected as an acolyte. The members of the group are expected to behave in an exemplary manner not only at church but in every aspect of their lives. Training and selection for new acolytes happens twice a year. There is a new Leadership program for those individuals have shown an outstanding attitude, have a love for the position and want to help train and mentor our new members.
PYOCA stands for Presbyterian Youth Camp. Over the years, Camp PYOCA has been a source of summer fun for FPC youth and families. The new year means the promise of new life and new opportunities. After an amazing year of programs and the celebration of 70 years of ministry in 2022, we can’t wait to uncover all of the work that God will do at PYOCA in 2023! There’s so much to look forward to and summer camp is at the top of the list. We can hardly wait for another summer of exploring our call, growing in faith, resting in Creation, and playing with a purpose.
Summer camp registration for Pyoca Programs* officially opened at 12:00PM (noon) EST on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
