First Presbyterian Church of Noblesville has two remarkable things going for it. The first is our common faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The second is our people who are deeply committed to Christ and His Church. Combined, these elements form our church family. Our church family worships together, prays together, studies together, and shares missions together. The church building is our home base of operation where we receive instruction from the Bible about matters of life and faith. Then we go out into our own neighborhoods, schools, and places of business to share our faith in word and deed.
You might say the church is in the business of building people in the name of Christ. And like growing your own family, it takes monetary resources to encourage every member of the Church including children, youth, and adults to grow as a family of faith.
In the Church we use the word Stewardship. But what does that mean?
· A “Steward” is a manager. We acknowledge that God is the owner of everything; we are the managers.
· Stewardship means that as we give, we also grow as followers of Christ!
· Stewardship is about our giving from our current resources, money, gifts, talents, and interests. We invest now…not waiting until “our ship comes in.”
· Stewardship is about living through our giving. What we take lasts temporarily. What we give lasts forever.
· Stewardship begins with loving, not giving. Giving is a natural response to our love for God and others.
· Stewardship means Lordship. God is in control of my life.
